LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL COMMENTS
In a recent survey, parents had these positive comments to say of LHS:
For the teachers who are dedicated, we are very impressed. They make all the difference in our child's education.
- instrumental music program and band directors
Communication with teachers, counselors, & principals. Biggest improvement for parents is powerschool.
The A/P courses -- seem to be preparing my child for college more so than regular classes which will hopefully pay off.
I love Power School and the weekly bulletin that keeps me up to date on what's going on in school. The drug program was very beneficial.
Extra curricular activities, groups, and clubs for every student type, i.e., academic, musical, athletic.
I like that the front doors to the school are locked now, and people entering during school hours have to be buzzed in. I think this definitely provides more security for the students, faculty and staff.
Janet Nonte, Administrative Assistant to the Principal is the best. She is supportive, responsive and goes absolutely above and beyond to help with anything! I believe, as a parent, she is the best resource at the school and I do not know her as a personal friend, only as a parent.
Great office support, counselors, etc. They seem to deal with the problems and kids very well. I have talked to many teachers thru email and they are very quick to respond and seem concerned about my child.
Had prompt responses from teachers when I emailed. That shows me they care about the students.
Mr. Parsley was an asset and Mr. Combs is a great replacement!!! They both listen to both the parents and the students and they have the respect of the students which is VERY important!
Our teacher's and administration are very nice people.
Power school program; keeps parents informed of up coming events.
math
Power School, Nutritious Lunches
The math department, & the science department.
I love that the school lets the kids be more independent.
Lots of programs to get children involved. Love power school!!
I feel the school offers many choices for students to gain valuable experiences outside of the classroom.
Sports and extracurricular activities, powerschool
The biggest strength that I find Lincoln has is the special education program. There are many options for these kids when entering Lincoln. I am very happy that Lincoln offers so much.
My children participate in the choir and marching band programs. I think Mr. Marsh, Mr. Snyder and all others involved in these activities are strong assets to LHS.
JROTC program, the diversity of programming, the willingness of staff to start new programs
Many great teachers, and staff members. I feel most of the teachers that my son has this year, is preparing him for college. I have always had great communication with everyone at LHS.
Lincoln has so much to offer in the learning aspect and also the sports and the clubs for the kids. I do like the powerschool it keeps me informed of how my child is doing so that I may help with any problems that may arise or if she is having any problems with her classes and grades.
The teachers and administration are great. I know they really care about my child's education and her well being. I feel like they have genuinely taken an interest in her and what she is accomplishing.
There are some great teachers and some that I feel don't care at all.
The development of a more stricter high school. Since Mr. Parsley became the principal the students have been more accountable for their actions. They behave better and go by the rules.
There are a few really good teachers. Power School is great, if updated every week.
Safe, some excellent teachers, building being well-cared for.
Music department, extra curricular opportunities, Powerschool
Educational varieties
1.Good choices in some new teachers. 2.Keeping the arts alive and active at LHS is huge!!! 3.Changing lunch caterers was a good move. 4.Counselors and teachers working together to get schedules that meet the students needs meant a lot this year. Schedules were difficult with summer school being canceled.
Alice Academy, ROTC, vocational education/applied learning classes, school newspaper, great office staff
Class curriculum and extra curricular activities.
I believe the JROTC program is very good. I am also glad to hear about the addition of the bowling team, since all kids aren't baseball/basketball/football players, but could benefit from being included on a team sport of some sort.
Kids are kept to busy schedule to keep them on track.
Some of the teachers appear to know the child and take special interest. Some do not. Only one teacher did not return 2 request left on voice mail.
great teachers and counselors/helpful and pleasant office staff
education before sports
My child loves the teachers. I feel(by talking to my child) that they are very personable and makes them feel at ease. One even sent me a note last year saying what a pleasure to have my child in their class! That was going beyond and made me proud!
Sports, academics
Academics, extra-curricular activities (depth and scope), a balance of veteran teachers and new teachers.
Good curriculum and a variety of sports teams and extra curricular activities.
Communication between resource teachers and parents. Additional help is available if requested. Advisors work well with students to set up class schedules.
There are some really wonderful teachers there who are requiring my child to be a better student.
The resource department is wonderful. They keep the lines of communication open and really work to do what is best for your child.
caring/personable teachers
Extra-curricular activities; offering college-credit courses.
Great facilities.
