Spring is in the air!
Everyone looks forward to Spring Break, but as students, parents and educators know, the end of Spring Break within the school year is like a roller coaster and more so that quick decent that leaves your stomach turning. Or at least this is the case for me, and I am no fan of roller coasters.
Many different things come into play after Spring Break. This includes the finality of so many different opportunities for students. Spring sports, musicals, choir and band concerts, academic meets, etc. are all a part of this finality.
We also know the time after Spring Break to be one of the most stressful as students are expected to complete state assessments and local final exams.
It is also a time where we prepare to say goodbye to yet another graduating class and also welcome a new group of Kindergarten students as we hold registration in the spring for the upcoming new school year.
With this, I am reminded of something that Mr. Combs, our high school principal, often tells his graduating Seniors and this is that you will find a lot of common names associated with schools. This includes those that assimilate with being that of “Braves”, “Patriots”, “Bears”, “Warriors”, and “Cardinals”. But with this, there is only one “Alice” and will always only be that of one “Alice”.
With this stated, whether you are a part of the new incoming group of Alice’s or going out as a graduating Alice, it is very clear to me that once an Alice, always an Alice and further no one offers more for their students and this only allows our Alice’s to be the absolute very best.
Enjoy the end of the school year and as always, Go Alices!
