L. Kirk Bouchie

  Kirk Bouchie graduated from Lincoln High School in 1976 and from Vincennes University two years later.  He then transferred to the honors program at the Indiana University School of Business where he received a Bachelor’s degree in 1980 and a Master’s degree in 1981.  In the early 1990s he attended the Stonier Graduate School of Business at the University of Delaware. 

            Since completing his graduate degree at IU Bouchie has been in commercial lending and bank management in Dallas, Indianapolis, and Vincennes.  Returning to Vincennes in 1987, he currently is senior vice-president and city executive with Fifth Third Bank.   

            Bouchie participates in numerous community and civic activities.  These include Vincennes Rotary Club, Lincoln Booster Club, Lincoln High School Academic Society, Knox County Development Corporation, Vincennes Revolving Loan Fund Committee, the finance committee of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, and YMCA.  He also holds board positions with the Vincennes University Foundation, Babe Ruth League, and Vincennes Cub League.  Previously he served board positions with the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, Vincennes Water Board, and Vincennes Community School Corporation.  

n the realm of volunteer activities, Bouchie has been a Junior Achievement instructor, Boy Scout fundraiser, and a coach of Cub League baseball and YMCA basketball.

            Since 1997 Bouchie has been president of the Vincennes Cub League baseball enterprise.  During this time he has served as host president for four Bambino/Cal Ripken World Series held in Vincennes.  These events feature 15 teams, five of which are international.  One of these series in 2001 for 12-year-olds was the only national event to occur in Vincennes televised live.  In August 2004 the local Cub League hosted another successful World Series, this one for 10-year-olds.

            In recent years Bouchie has received honors including citizenship awards for community service, induction in the Indiana Babe Ruth Baseball Hall of Fame, and an Indiana Jaycee Outstanding Young Hoosier award.

            Bouchie is married to the former Becky Qualkenbush (LHS class of 1977) and they have two sons, Doug and David, both of whom are students at Indiana University.
