Patrick J. Ottensmeyer

Patrick Ottensmeyer is a 1975 graduate of Lincoln High School who earned a Bachelor’s degree in finance from Indiana University. He resides in Lake Forest, Illinois.

Currently he is a managing director and cofounder of Transportation Finance and Administration Company LLC, a shared-service provider and consulting company to the transportation industry. Since 2000 Ottensmeyer also serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Intranasal Technology Inc., a late-stage specialty pharmaceutical company. He also is an executive in residence and adjunct faculty member at DePaul University in Chicago.

From 1993 to 1999 Ottensmeyer was vice president of finance and treasurer of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation, one of the largest railroads in the nation. At BNSF he was responsible for corporate finance and treasury, risk management, strategic planning, and investment management.

Prior to joining BNSF Ottensmeyer was in commercial banking for 15 years including senior positions at National Bank of Detroit, Security Pacific National Bank, and Bank of America where he was a senior vice president and managing director in the New York City corporate office.

Currently he serves on a number of boards including the finance advisory board for DePaul University, board member and chairman of the finance and audit committee for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Illinois, president and member of the board and executive committee of the Lake Forest Club, board member of the Lake Forest Swim Club, and member of the board of education and finance committee for Lake Forest High School.

Previously he was a board member of Metal Management Inc. in Chicago and a member of the president’s advisory board for Judson College in Elgin, Illinois.

Ottensmeyer and his wife, Kathy, have three teenage daughters: Amy, Cindy, and Lisa.
