Philip A. Reilly

Philip Reilly committed to a military career at age 17 and completed basic training during the summer following his junior year. He entered service full-time upon graduation from Lincoln High in 1992. While on active duty he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in business management and computer information systems from Park University, Quantico, Virginia. Subsequently he completed Officer Candidate School.

Serving as battalion automations officer with the 101st Airborne, Reilly was assigned to Iraq in March 2003. There he designed and implemented computer networks in three forward deployed locations. As a divisional level pay agent he made daily trips to Baghdad and Mosul to develop logistics channels and negotiate contracts for local services and goods. He attained the rank of captain while with the 101st Airborne and subsequently was assigned to the National Guard Bureau in Indianapolis as a senior systems analyst. Reilly maintains memberships in several organizations affiliated with the military.

At various stages in his career Reilly has received awards and medals for distinguished achievement and leadership, including the Bronze Star for service in Iraq. He also has been involved in international diplomacy by serving as a mentor for a Jordanian military officer and teaching English to Korean soldiers. He has undertaken civic and social responsibilities in several of his duty locations. These include helping elementary students with reading and math, working with church youth groups, and teaching Sunday school. Reilly helped plan activities for military families and has entertained troops and their families with his guitar playing during holiday events.

As a Lincoln student, Reilly lettered in swimming and golf and played junior varsity tennis. He still plays golf, tennis, and volleyball. Reading selections include history, politics, and economics. He enjoys music and continues playing a guitar. Furthering his education, he currently is enrolled in an MBA program.

Reilly is the son of Bob and Donna Glenn and the late Richard Reilly. He has two sons, Andrew and Colin.
