THOMAS W. WATHEN
Thomas W. Wathen graduated from Lincoln in 1947. After high school,
he attended VU and later graduated from IU with a degree in police administration. He is now the executive officer of Pinkerton Security and Investigation Services.
In awarding both a Distinguished Alumnus Citation and an honorary doctorate in public services, VU also noted his contributions to North American Aviation RCA, Mattel Toys, and authorship of a textbook for officers in plant protection. An aviation enthusiast, Wathen restores old planes as a hobby. President Reagan appointed him to a two year term with the Aviation Safety Commission. He is also a member of the President's Council for the Experimental Aircraft Association. Wathen and his wife, Janna, have two sons.
