This is an introductory business course that provides the framework for future business courses. Students learn topics relevant to every student's life, including business etiquette and ethics. Topics include consumerism, economics, entrepreneurship, money management, banking, credit, management, marketing, and law.

Accounting is highly recommended as a basic course for students planning to major in business during college. Accounting principles including debits and credits, the accounting cycle, and accounts receivable and payable are covered.

Prerequisite: Accounting with "C" average or better.
These classes build upon the principles and procedures learned in Accounting 1. Emphasis is placed upon managerial decisions made in corporate accounting, including in-depth analysis of financial statements. Projects and simulations are used to apply accounting theories. Mentoring in accounting offices and firms will occurred in Accounting 3. Students may receive college credit.

This is a specialized business course designed to provide students the skills to effectively organize, develop, create, and manage their own business. Case studies will be used to develop interpersonal skill and economic foundations.

This is a career and technical education business course designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of business occupations. Instruction is provided in the use of current technology with emphasis on the integration of communication and employment.

BTL 2 is a career and technical education business course which will refine the business skills and knowledge acquired in Business Tech Lab 1. Educational experiences will be based upon the student's individual career and educational goals. As a capstone program, this course prepares students for employment in various business occupations or to continue study in a post secondary institution. Business Professionals of America is the co-curricular organization associated with this course. Job shadowing and mentoring are included during semester 2. Students may receive college credit.

This class provides an overview of the legal system. The topics covered include basics of the law, contract law, employment law, personal law, and property law. Both criminal and civil trial procedures are presented.

This class focuses on the opportunities and challenges of managing a business. Topics include business organization, management styles, advertising and promotion, and human resources.

This course enables the student to master the basic computer skills. Topics include Word, Excel, Desktop Publishing, and Power Point. This is a vital and strongly recommended class for every high school student.

Students learn advanced and integrated projects using the Microsoft office suite. There is an opportunity to receive college credit if the course is taken during grades 11 or 12.

Students learn skills necessary to produce a quality and functional web site. Students design the LHS web page using HTML, Macromedia, Suite, and the digital camera.
