Lincoln High School Instrumental Music Department History
Celebrating over 100 years of instrumental music!
1907-2011
The following was included in the 1998 “75th Anniversary” “Proclamation” from the Office of the Mayor:
Whereas, music has been a part of the history of Lincoln High School since the early 1970’s, and
Wheras, the musical history includes the LHS Orchestra, known as the White and Gold, 1907-1951, organized in 1907 under music supervisor Miss Ada E. Bicking, and
Wheras, the musical history includes the Lincoln Band, founded 75 years ago in 1923 by Band Director Mr. Oscar L. Dunn, and
Now Therefore, I, Howard Wm. Hatcher, Mayor of the City of Vincennes, Indiana, do hereby proclaim the week of September 21, 1998 as
