2018-2019 SHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

located outside of Ms. Shaffer’s office.

Monroe City High School Alumni Association Scholarship. Applicants must have a direct relative who graduated from Monroe City High School, parent, grandparent, great grandparent, etc. Submission deadline is March 15th.

Decker High School Alumni Association Scholarship for direct descendants of a Decker High School graduate. This means you are related through parent, grandparent or great grandparent. Deadline is March 20.

Indiana Association for the Gifted awards two $2,000 scholarships to current Indiana high school seniors. To enter, students have their choice of writing an essay or submitting a multi-media presentation via YouTube. Students also must submit letters of recommendation, test scores, and transcripts. PACE Judith K. Bobe Scholarship is for graduating seniors you have been enrolled in the Head Start Program. Must a minimum 2.5 GPA. Forms are available at http://www.pacecaa.org/services/scholarshipprogram/. Submission deadline is March 29

JROTC Booster Club Scholarship 2019 is for seniors with a minimum 2.0 GPA, three full years of service in the JROTC along with 100 community service hours through the program. Application deadline is March 31st.

2019 Governor’s STEM Team (#GovSTEMteam) highlights Indiana’s elite high school students for their work in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
The program honors four outstanding high school students for their exemplary performance in one of the STEM subjects. Winning students each receive a $1,000 college scholarship from Indiana’s College Choice 529 Direct Savings plan, administered by Treasurer Mitchell, and letter man jackets identifying them as members of the Governor’s STEM Team. Applications and nominations may be submitted online at the following link: https://secure.in.gov/apps/govstemawards/
The deadline for nominations is 11:59 p.m. ET on March 31st.

The Lincoln High School Soccer Boosters continue their support of soccer players who have played soccer all four years of high school. The award will be based on GPA, years of dedication to Lincoln soccer, Community Service, Work Ethic and Leadership on the soccer field, and Soccer Ability.  The applicant must be a Soccer Letter winner and have 2 character reference letters.  Scholarship applications must be turned into the senior counselor by April 1st

First United Methodist Church Knox County Scholarship
First consideration is given to church members but eligible students are any student graduating from a Knox county High School who plan to continue their post-education full-time. Applications may also be pick up at the church office, 411 N. 4th Street. Submission deadline is April 1st.

Gamma Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc offers three one-year scholarships to students attending VU. Completed application must be postmarked by prior to April 1

Melissa Rose Ziemer Scholarship is available to ALL college bound seniors. Completed applications must be turned in to Ms. Shaffer by April 1

Mary J Szczepanski “Never Give Up” MS Scholarship Program  www.msscholarship.org. Pamphlets are also available on the scholarship shelf. Deadline for submission is April 1

IN Sheriffs Association Scholarship for seniors committed to pursuing a career in a law enforcement field. Applicants must be a member or the dependent of a member. Membership application is included with the scholarship application. Deadline for submission is April 1

Knox County Farm Bureau Inc. offers two scholarships for seniors planning to pursue education beyond high school in agriculture or an agriculture related field.
They also provided a list of Ag Grants and Scholarships. Submission deadline is on or before April 4

Ann Spencer Couchenour Memorial Scholarship eligibility criteria: 3.0 or above, active in school activities and a student leader. Submission deadline is April 15

The American Legion Post #73 Scholarship. All graduating seniors planning to pursue a post-secondary education may apply. Application deadline is April 15

Lindsey A Fleck Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must be planning to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. Application deadline is April 15

Franklin Elementary Alumni Scholarship is a monetary award to a deserving student who is in good standing, has had above average academic success and realizes that his/her experience as a student has made a positive impact on life. Application is due April 18th.

VCSC Stars Rising Star Scholarship is for students who have participated in musicals and plays and have a 2.0 GPA or higher. Submission deadline is April 20

Rotary Service Above Self Scholarship is for seniors who have been leaders in service and community projects. Submission deadline is April 22nd

Vincennes University’s Mathematics Education Bachelor’s Degree Program has three new scholarships totaling $5000 to award to incoming students Fall 2019. SAT and/or ACT scores are required along with participation in a mathematics classroom as an intern, volunteer or tutor. Submission deadline is May 1
