The Vincennes Community School Corporation is excited to announce that a mobile dentist will be visiting our elementary schools this month to provide dental care for students.
Scheduled Visit Dates:
February 17 – Franklin Elementary
February 24 – Tecumseh-Harrison Elementary
February 25 – Vigo Elementary
February 26 – Riley Elementary
This service is available to all students in grades K-5.
VCSC is excited to offer this opportunity in partnership with Smile Programs, ensuring students can receive essential dental care during the school day. Sara Schutz, VCSC Head Nurse, emphasized the impact of this program, stating:
"Dental care is something that is often put on the ‘back burner’ for our families, and we are thrilled for the opportunity to partner with Smile Programs to bring dental care to our students. Students can receive the care they need at school, and our families will not have to worry about transportation, missing work, or the financial burden for the uninsured, as no child is left unseen due to an inability to pay."
Important Information for Parents
Consent Required – Students must have a completed permission form (paper or electronic) to receive care. If you have not yet filled out a form, click here to complete one.
No Insurance? No Problem! – If a student does not have dental insurance, parents can indicate on the form that they need donated care. The dental company will then provide a grant form for parents to complete, allowing their child to receive a free cleaning, screening, and fluoride treatment.
This is a great opportunity for our students, and we appreciate your support in making it a success.
If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school office.
