The Vincennes Community School Corporation held it's monthly board meeting on Monday morning.
At this month’s Vincennes Community School Corporation (VCSC) Board of Trustees meeting, Superintendent Mr. Parsley presented the Consent Agenda for approval. This included minutes, financial reports, personnel changes, donations, fundraisers, salary adjustments, and admission pricing for Clark Middle School events.
Staff Retirements & Resignations
Several VCSC staff members announced their resignations:
Scott Hurst – LHS Social Studies (effective May 23, 2025)
Ashley Watts – Franklin/Riley PE (effective May 23, 2025)
Andrea Graves – LHS Spanish (effective 2025–26 school year)
Laura Arial – Vigo Instructional Assistant (effective June 9, 2025)
We are grateful for the time and dedication each of these educators has given to VCSC and wish them all the best in their next chapters.
New Hires
The board approved several new team members for the 2025–26 school year (pending required documentation):

Highlights:
Shelby McCormick, now CMS Dean of Students, has been with VCSC since 2017 and holds two master’s degrees in education and administration.
Gage Cooper, previously a life skills aide and long-term sub, has been officially recommended for the Vigo life skills teacher role. He recently completed his education degree and has been an active part of the school and community.
We welcome all our new hires and congratulate those stepping into new positions!
Fundraisers Approved
LHS Girls Cross Country Team will hold a "Fill the Shoe" fundraiser from July 14–31 and a car wash at Memering Motorplex on August 9.
Tecumseh-Harrison PTO will host its annual Paragon Promotions fundraiser from August 10–30. Additional fundraisers under consideration include Art to Remember and the Pumpkin Patch.
Clark Middle School Admission Pricing Update
Clark Middle School updated its event admission prices for the 2025–26 school year:
Adults: $5 (was $4)
Students/Children (HS and under): Free (was $2)
Family Pass (4 people): $100 (was $60)
Single Pass: $50 (was $30)
Note: CMS students still attend events for free.
Budget Approvals
KCSEC Joint Services Budget:
The Board approved the Knox County Special Education Cooperative (KCSEC) budget for the 2025–26 school year.Total budget: $1,882,210.33
VCSC's share: $1,065,331.05
The increase of about $55,800 is mainly due to wage adjustments for instructional assistants.
As the lead district (LEA), VCSC’s approval is key.
Construction Bids Approved
The Board approved a construction bid from Wolfe Construction for several upcoming facility upgrades:
LHS doors and hardware
Alice Arena railing
WLA building façade
Total awarded bid: $906,210 (including selected alternates)
Wolfe was the lowest bidder, and the final cost came in under the estimated budget.
