All students in the Vincennes Community School Corporation will receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2025–2026 school year.
This is made possible through the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a program that allows eligible schools to serve meals to all students at no cost—regardless of family income.
VCSC applied for and was approved for continued participation in the CEP, ensuring that every student at every school in the district can enjoy breakfast and lunch without having to pay or submit a meal application.
This marks the fourth consecutive school year that VCSC has been able to offer free meals to all students.
Families do not need to fill out any forms to receive free meals.
Superintendent Greg Parsley expressed his appreciation for those who help make the program possible.
“Many thanks to our friends and partners at Sodexo for the work they do to ensure our students have access to a variety of meal options—including free breakfast and lunch,” Parsley said.
“The reality is that many schools can no longer offer this, and we know this opportunity will eventually sunset for VCSC as well. However, we are excited to continue providing these meals for the start of the 2025–2026 school year.”
Each free meal—breakfast or lunch—includes one milk.
Families only need to send money if a student wants an extra milk, which costs 50 cents, or if a student at Clark Middle School or Lincoln High School wishes to purchase additional meals or snack items.
