Riley Donation to Shop with a Cop

Riley Elementary students are spreading holiday cheer in a big way!

On Friday, members of the school’s Student Council presented a $200 check to the Vincennes Police Department to support the Shop with a Cop program.

The money came from a schoolwide bake sale held the week before Thanksgiving.

Riley teachers baked and donated all the goodies, and students treated themselves buying treats for just a quarter each.

Together, they whipped up enough money to make a real impact in their community.

This marks the first time Riley’s Student Council has donated to Shop with a Cop, and students were thrilled to get involved.

Student Council Sponsor Kellee Worland said the experience was rewarding for everyone.

“The kids feel good about themselves that they’re able to give back and help other kids,” Worland said.

Riley’s Student Council, made up of students in grades 3 through 5, is already looking forward to more ways to help the community and make a difference.
