Students and teachers at Washington Learning Academy took full advantage of the beautiful spring weather this week as they gathered for the school’s annual end-of-year picnic.

The celebration, a favorite tradition among students and staff alike, marked a joyful conclusion to months of hard work, learning, and growth.

After a productive morning of studies, students headed outside to share a picnic lunch with their classmates and teachers.

Students spent the afternoon participating in a variety of fun activities and games and even a creative chalk art session where several students impressed everyone with their drawings of SpongeBob SquarePants and other beloved characters.

But the fun didn’t stop there—learning continued in an exciting and hands-on way with the school’s annual egg drop challenge.

Students worked in teams to design protective containers using a mix of everyday and unusual materials.

Their goal?

To keep an egg from cracking when dropped from the school’s rooftop. Each group carefully wrapped their egg, sealed it in a box, and watched with anticipation as it took the plunge.

The picnic and egg drop served as the perfect way to wrap up the school year at WLA, blending fun, friendship, and learning into one unforgettable afternoon.
