VCSC Welcome

It is always good to be an Alice and/or Panther!

I have often stated, there are very few school corporations our size that can offer the limitless opportunities that we can to our students.  We meet our students at the pass every time with some of the most impactful and innovative curriculum.  We hit upon so many different areas of interest when it comes to our students.  We have our award winning JROTC program, our fine arts program can go up against anyone, our Early College partnership with Vincennes University is unlike no other in the amount of programming and savings with which we can bring to our students and families, our pathways that are offered to high school students promote those that are ready to immediately enter the workforce to the those that desire to further their education.  We extend the same impactful and innovating curriculum to our elementary and middle school students as well and this includes through High Ability programming, Design and Innovation Studios, foreign language, fine arts and so forth.  We also have programming that recognizes that not all students desire the traditional setting, and this is where our diverse alternative education programming comes into play with the work that we do through Washington Learning Academy.

But none of this happens if it is not for the amazing faculty and staff that we have that works with our students and families each day within the VCSC.  I have long stated, I will put most of our staff and faculty up against anyone as I get the privilege of seeing repeatedly the things that our people will do for students and families.  We have a staff that are dedicated to being sure that our students and families receive the best.

But the easy part of all of this is that we do this for our students as they themselves should always be viewed as head of the class as we desire to see them accomplish every educational objective that they set out to conquer.  In the end, it is about completion and seeing our students graduate and whether they do this through Lincoln High School and are an Alice or do this through the Washington Learning Academy and where they are a Panther, it makes no difference.  We simply desire for our students to have success.  And it is with this, that we are fortunate that we have Alices and Panthers doing significant work throughout our community, our state and country and even a few who are doing important things abroad.

As I often say, I get the privilege and honor of being the superintendent of the Vincennes Community School Corporation, but in the end it is for our students and this is what education is all about in the VCSC.
