Mr. Alice Pageant

Students at Lincoln High School are preparing for the annual Mr. Alice Pageant, set to take place this Thursday at Ader Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.

The event began several years ago when former Interact Club president Ali Skinner, who had competed in pageants herself.

“Ali had done several pageants but wanted something for males, particularly for those who go above and beyond in showing school spirit,” said Superintendent Greg Parsley.

“Mr. Alice was created as a way to showcase that.”

Contestants will take the stage to perform talents, engage in humorous acts, and work together throughout the evening.

“This event is special because it allows students, families, and staff to see a different side of the contestants,” LHS Teacher and Event Organizer said Bailey Hacker-Powell.

“They get to be silly, show their talents, and work as a team for a great cause.”

A panel of five judges from Lincoln High School—Kaitlyn Reding, Bryce Crane, Ashley Hampton, Kyela Jones, and Kristina Altstadt—will evaluate the participants using a traditional pageant rubric.

Winners will receive a sash, crown, gift cards, and, for the first time this year, a bedazzled “Little A” trophy, thanks to Ashley Hampton.

“There is a sense of representation and pride in winning,” said Hacker-Powell.

Past Mr. Alice winners include TT Gilbert & Cannon McAllister, David Hyppolite, Hunter Davis & Jude Clark, Gabe Vieck & Gage Hagood, Mabry Fleck & Aiden Fleetwood, Elio Smith & Michael Watry, and Carson McCormick & Baylor Limbach.

The pageant also serves as a fundraiser for local causes.

Over the years, proceeds have supported organizations such as Helping His Hands, elementary PTOs, and families in need.

This year, funds will benefit Secret Alice, a VCSC program that provides confidential assistance to students and families facing hardship.

“Secret Alice is there when families need something, whether it’s a winter coat, school supplies, Christmas presents, or help after a fire or another crisis,” said Parsley.

“It’s a quiet but powerful way we support our students behind the scenes.”

Admission to the event is $5 at the door, with students able to purchase presale tickets for $3.
