Franklin Story Walk

Franklin Elementary invites families to a fun-filled Family Night at the Book Fair on Monday, April 8, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

As part of the evening, students and families can enjoy the Story Walk experience—an interactive way to enjoy reading together.

In past years, the Story Walk has been set up outdoors with poster boards displaying story pages.

Since it's still a bit chilly and windy, this year's story walk will take place inside the hallway.

Two dinosaur-themed stories will be featured: The Stompysaurus and Iguanodon’s Horn.

Families can walk together, stopping to read each page displayed along the route until they reach the end of each story.

The Stompysaurus, a book that encourages children to explore and manage emotions, also inspires a hands-on craft activity where students can create calming bottles filled with dinosaur glitter and dino beads.

The evening will also include dinosaur-themed snacks, a dino toss game, a dino dig pit, and bowling fun with help from the Vincennes University bowling team.

Families are welcome to shop at the Book Fair throughout the event.

Students who sign in at the event will be entered into a drawing for one of two prize baskets filled with books and dinosaur-themed items.
