VCSC Alumni

Members of the Vincennes Lincoln High School Class of 1975 visited VCSC on Monday with a meaningful surprise.

Alumni Cindy Deckard and Cindy Beaman presented a $500 donation to Superintendent Greg Parsley in support of the Secret Alice Fund.

“We care about the students,” Beaman said. “Where there’s a need, we want to help.”

The Secret Alice Fund began 18 years ago, created by former Lincoln High School Assistant Principal Glenn Buechlein.

At first, it supported only high school students and families, helping cover needs such as overdue lunch balances, clothing, and holiday assistance.

Parsley shared that the fund quickly proved to be a powerful resource, and it soon expanded into a K–12 program.

Community members wanted to give toward meaningful causes within the schools, often quietly, without recognition—making Secret Alice the perfect avenue.

Today, the fund continues to make a difference across the district.

It has supported families recovering from house fires, provided gas money for students working jobs, assisted students experiencing homelessness, and even helped cover college course fees when other support wasn’t available.

Managed by VCSC social workers, the fund is designed to meet real needs as they arise.

“We simply want success for our students and families,” Parsley said. “Secret Alice is one small way we can help make that happen.”

VCSC is grateful for the Class of 1975’s generosity and their continued commitment to supporting students.
