Vincennes Community School Corporation Superintendent Greg Parsley has been named the 2026 District VII Superintendent of the Year by the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents, recognizing his leadership and commitment to students, staff, and the Vincennes community.
The honor recognizes outstanding leadership, professional accomplishments, and positive impact on students, schools, and communities.
District honorees are selected by fellow superintendents from across Indiana.
“On behalf of the Vincennes Community School Board of Trustees, we extend our most sincere and well-deserved congratulations to Superintendent Greg Parsley,” said VCSC School Board President Karla Smith.
“Mr. Parsley’s commitment and dedication to the VCSC is exceptional. He spends countless hours for the betterment and support of the kids and staff. His leadership and energy are strengths we are thankful for and enjoy working with him.”
Throughout his 14 year tenure at VCSC, Parsley has focused on creating an environment where students are safe, supported, included, and provided opportunities to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Under his leadership, the district established its own police department to strengthen school safety while also expanding support services for students and families.
VCSC has also continued building strong partnerships with churches, civic organizations, local leaders, and community stakeholders to better serve students throughout the community.
Parsley has also led efforts to improve services and opportunities for students with special needs through a partnership with Indiana University Bloomington Center on Education and Lifelong Learning.
During his time as superintendent, life skills classrooms were restored at all four elementary schools, while co-teaching practices were expanded to create more inclusive learning environments and strengthen collaboration between educators.
In addition, VCSC has remained financially stable through conservative budgeting, transparent communication, and long-term planning while continuing to protect student programs and increase staff compensation.
Student opportunities across the district have also continued to grow through programs such as JROTC, performing arts, Unified Sports, and Washington Learning Academy, which has helped more than 150 students earn diplomas through an alternative pathway.
As the District VII recipient, Parsley will now be considered for the 2027 Indiana Superintendent of the Year award.
