Riley Elementary Student Council is giving back in a big way!

Students raised money through Valentine’s Day candy grams, donating $100 to the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation to support the infusion center. They also collected 20 books for newborn babies at the hospital.

We’re proud of these young leaders for making a difference in our community!

Riley Elementary 5th graders got creative in art class this week!

Students learned about self-taught artist Laurel Burch and her love of painting colorful, expressive cats. After exploring her style, students followed a guided drawing and began painting their own unique versions.

A big thank you to Bobe’s Pizza for donating boxes that were turned into mini easels—giving students a fun and creative way to bring their artwork to life.

Check out some of the work below. Students will continue working next week to add details and finish their masterpieces. We can’t wait to see the final results!

VCSC Spring Forward Reminder.
On Thursday, fifth graders from Riley Elementary School visited Vincennes University, where they spent the day participating in hands-on activities designed to build awareness and understanding of disabilities.

Through these experiences, students learned about the challenges individuals with disabilities may face and gained insight into how people with disabilities live, work, and navigate everyday life.

These Wildcats in Mrs. Eaton’s 4th grade class had a fun day exploring the history of Vincennes!

Students took a field trip to the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park, William Henry Harrison's Grouseland, and the Vincennes State Historic Sites, where they learned more about the people and events that helped shape our community and our country.

Here is a look at some of the moments from their adventure through history.

It’s Read Across America Week, and our Wildcats have been enjoying some special guest readers in the classroom!

On Wednesday, Lincoln High School basketball player Reid Hall stopped by to read with our kindergarten, first, and second grade students.
Former principal Susan Marchino also stopped by and read with our third, fourth, and fifth graders.

We would like to thank all of our special readers for taking the time to read to our Wildcats!
