The VCSC will now be in session on Monday, January 20 since yesterday was not an eLearning day. The state approved our other four eLearning days, so those will not need to be made up.

Attached is a statement from the VCSC regarding a recent security breach that affected PowerSchool. This breach affected school corporations nationwide. Currently, we do not have information specific to just the VCSC, but once we do, we will notify everyone involved.

The VCSC will be closed on Friday, January 10. It will be an eLearning day so students should check their Google Classrooms, work on packets, or check areas where teachers normally communicate with families.

The VCSC will be closed on Thursday, January 9 with NO eLearning for this day of closure.

The VCSC will be closed on Wednesday, January 8, for all activities. There will be no athletic practices or extracurricular events. It will be an eLearning day so students should check their Google Classrooms, work on packets, or check areas where teachers normally communicate with families.

Due to potential inclement weather this weekend Lincoln, Clark, Franklin, Riley, Tecumseh-Harrison, and Vigo will be open tomorrow, Friday, January 3 from 3:00 - 5:00 for students/families to get items (Chromebooks, packets,...) in the event we need to move to virtual e-learning days next week. Staff in the office will help direct you where you need to go or give you the items you need.

If you did not receive the School Messenger call about the 2-hour delay please refer to the website below for some information about VCSC School Messenger and a form to get your number added to the system.

This survey is for parents or guardians of students in our district. Please complete a survey for each child that attends one of our schools. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. It is completely anonymous; survey data is gathered through our partners at Indiana University who will review the results with us.
Our teachers and administrators truly care about your feedback and appreciate your time letting us know about your family’s experiences through this survey. Results will help us provide necessary resources and foster the active involvement of families through schools and the community.

Happy Soggy Homecoming 2024!
The VCSC working with many others has made some changes to Homecoming internally and primarily this impacts our students. The Homecoming Parade will now take place on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 3:45 PM. The Homecoming Court and coronation will take place at Inman Field next Friday, October 4, 2024, as well as we have a home football game next Friday, in addition to the game that is scheduled for tonight.
The VCSC will continue with our originally planned Early Release today, September 27, 2024. The VCSC will NOT have Early Release on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, for Professional Development, but we will have Early Release next Friday, October 4, 2024, for internal homecoming activities.
As it pertains to Homecoming activities from outside groups, communication will likely need to come from the organizers of these events. We do know that the sock hop scheduled for Adams Coliseum tomorrow is still on as planned. The Distinguished Alumni ceremony will take place at 5:00 PM in Adams Coliseum tomorrow evening.
As it pertains to the football game for this evening, this is still on as originally scheduled, but if changes are needed to be made these will be communicated from the athletic department.
We realize that this creates some inconveniences for some and especially those who have traveled in from out of town to celebrate and enjoy the fellowship with their former classmates, but with the weather, it was the best option for us internally.
We know that Homecoming is one of the most special events that occurs within the Vincennes Community School Corporation and specifically for Lincoln High School. We welcome home all our former alumni, in addition to those who live here in Vincennes that look forward to celebrating their alma mater each year. Hopefully, folks will still enjoy their time with each other this weekend and for us internally that we will have far better weather to work with next Friday.
Enjoy Homecoming both today and then again next Friday, October 4, 2024.
Go Alices!

Have dinner with the Riley Wildcats tonight.

To reach more parents, our parent convocation/presentation with Alicia Kozakiewicz is going to occur on Thursday, August 15 at 6 PM in Ader Auditorium inside Lincoln High School. There will NOT be a parent convocation/presentation tonight as originally planned due to the VCSC having several Meet the Teacher Nights.
We realize Franklin Elementary has their Meet the Teacher tomorrow night, but if parents desire to do both, we hope they can go to Franklin at the very beginning and then come to Ader.
The student convocations/presentations have been powerful and informative, and we hope parents will consider joining us tomorrow night.
Thank you!
Greg

KINDERGARTEN AND PRE-K FAMILIES
All emails should be sent out to the families of kindergarten and pre-k families who did the online pre-registration for the 2024-25 school year. Below are a few items to clear up some confusion from that email.
· The only thing parents/guardians need to do with that email is Step 1 which is to create your parent/guardian PowerSchool account.
· Enrollment forms have not yet been released, so you can’t do Step 2. We will notify families through the school website, social media, and school messenger calls when enrollment forms have been released and are ready to be completed.
· You do NOT need to schedule a new enrollment meeting like Step 3 states. This is only for new registrations during the school year when school is in session.
· If you are a kindergarten or pre-k parent/guardian who did not receive an email with your PowerSchool account information, you can call any school office when they reopen on July 25.
