Riley Elementary 5th graders got creative in art class this week!
Students learned about self-taught artist Laurel Burch and her love of painting colorful, expressive cats. After exploring her style, students followed a guided drawing and began painting their own unique versions.
A big thank you to Bobe’s Pizza for donating boxes that were turned into mini easels—giving students a fun and creative way to bring their artwork to life.
Check out some of the work below. Students will continue working next week to add details and finish their masterpieces. We can’t wait to see the final results!

Keep being awesome, Wildcats!

Parent-teacher conferences will take place on Thursday. If you would like to schedule a conference, please email your child’s teacher or contact the school office.

Don’t forget to “spring forward” by setting your clocks ahead one hour before heading to bed tonight!

Through these experiences, students learned about the challenges individuals with disabilities may face and gained insight into how people with disabilities live, work, and navigate everyday life.
